origins
abercrombie clothing company was established by David Abercrombie in 1892 and New York lawyer Ezra Fitch was one of his regular customers – buying outdoor clothing for shooting and hunting. At the turn of the century Fitch bought a major share of the company, thus becoming co-founder and in 1904, Fitch’s surname was incorporated and Abercrombie & Fitch came into being. It was a stormy relationship - Fitch saw value in taking the company in the direction of general apparel, while Abercrombie wanted to continue selling professional clothing and accessories to professional outdoorsmen. Finally, after many arguments, Abercrombie sold his share in the company to Fitch in 1907 and returned to manufacturing outdoor goods.

The embroidered detailing could get overwhelming at first glance but as I found myself getting hypnotized by it’s awesomeness, it’s really not that bad. Not at all.

In 2002 Hardy was approached by Ku USA, Inc. to produce a line of clothing based on Hardy's art. Hardy appreciated the Asian sensibilities of the Ku collection and a license agreement was signed. Within two years, the collection had drawn the interest of large clothing companies. A decision was made by Hardy and Ku USA to form Hardy Life LLC, which holds the trademark ownership as well as the copyrights.
In 2004 Christian Audigier[2], licensed the rights to produce the Ed Hardy clothing line, which is based on Hardy's imagery. Prior to the Ed Hardy clothing line, Audigier was the Head Designer at Von Dutch originals, which marketed the imagery of legendary Kustom Kulture artist Von Dutch. Audigier has attempted to replicate the marketing techniques employed by Von Dutch originals, by marketing directly to celebrity clients and by opening stores in high profile fashion districts. There are currently at least six Ed Hardy stores, located in Dubai, Los Angeles, Tucson, New York, Singapore and Sydney. Ed Hardy Designs also markets an energy drink, available in several different flavors.

Michael Jackson hasn’t had a hit in a while, but instead of working on his next platinum album, he’s turning his eye towards fashion! The King of Pop has teamed up with Ed Hardy designer — and pal — Christian Audigier to launch a new line this fall. Audigier tells PEOPLE of the collaboration, “It’s the merging of the King of Pop with the king of fashion. Something explosive is going to happen.” As for Kitson owner Fraser Ross, who has already committed to carrying the line exclusively at launch, he tells PEOPLE that he has faith in the new line because “Michael Jackson is an international pop icon who has had a huge following throughout his career. I think people will think it’s hip to wear his line. Through all his ups and downs people still love him. He still has a huge fan base.” Tell us: Will you wear Michael Jackson’s new clothing line?

Canada is known for many of its exports: lumber, maple syrup, marijuana and technology. You can now add high-end fashion label Dsquared2 to the list of things from Canada that everyone wants a piece of.
The Dsquared2 fashion clothing line was created about ten years ago by Dean and Dan Caten, a pair of Canadian brothers interested in clothes design. The brothers migrated to fashion-capital Milan, Italy where they debuted 35 pieces of clothing for their first men's collection just four years after arriving in Italy. The brothers debuted their first women's collection four years ago.
Since the launching of both lines, Dsquared2's designer clothes have been spotted on the likes of pop-queen Madonna, who asked the brothers to design the entire wardrobe for one of her tours after spotting Dsquared2's logo on the butt of a friend. Boyband-gone-badboy Justin Timberlake has also been seen wearing Dsquared2's clothing. This has helped build rapport for the fashion brand, adding visibility and cachet to the label.
